Engine Mount Problem

Engine Mount Problem
I don't have a kawi anymore, bought a 900RR but I have a problem and Honda forums are just filled with questions more or less about how to change the oil and don't know crap. So, I ask the trusted members on kawiforums for some advice. The bike came with a crash cage and the last owner dipped it and it ended up (as I found out, was not told) that the way it fell ended up bending the bolt a little and it stripped the engine mount and the bolt just... fell out. So, I re-drilled and tapped the mount adequate for a 1/2 inch bolt but I must have tapped it in a rush or something, the threads were soft and ended up doing the same thing, bolt fell out the other night (and I didn't have it torqued ALL the way, I noticed that it began to strip again after about 22 ft lbs or so.
The question is more or less what I should do, I can't do a nut setup (the mounts on the engine go through, so there are two open ends because the part of the cast for the timing chain is in the way) so I thought I could drill out the hole completely, make a cylinder which would fit into the hole perfectly, the center of this cylinder would have a hole with the correct threading, and then carefully weld that to the hole on the engine where the original mount was. But I don't know if that will work and I'm not sure if I'm exploring all the possibilities. So advice PLEASE!?
Thanks, even thought I don't own a kawi anymore

RE: Engine Mount Problem
you can try a heli coil but if its beyond that you may need to drill out the hole and do the threaded bung like you mentioned and weld that in. is the frame bent ? can you post a pic ?

RE: Engine Mount Problem
The frame seems fine, not bent at all, and the mounting bracket for the frame is good, too. I think he may have over-torqued and stripped the threading a little bit and then it just came loose over time. But yeah I'll post a pic up at some point. Thanks guys.
