07 6R engine mount torque
Hello everyone. Even though this is my first post, I have lerked around here for the better part of 6 months. I didn't feel like I could contribute since I wasn't an owner, but I just got my 07 6R a couple of weeks ago, so here I am.
I do have a question and hope someone here knows off the top of their head. I am installing a set of Shogun frame no cut frame sliders, and since I have to remove the engine bolts to install them, I was wondering what I need to torque the new bolts to.
Thanks for all your help in advance.
Josh

RE: 07 6R engine mount torque
I got the set that includes the sliders, spools, and bar ends, and the only instructions was this tiny piece of paper that had very general instructions like "remove the engine mount and install slider. It may help to remove body work." Nice. I guess it isn't rocket science
Anyway, 33lbs sounds a little low, esp. considering how hard they are to get off. I'm going to have to get a cheater somewhere to try to break them free.
I got the black set on eBay, $112.

RE: 07 6R engine mount torque
Congrats on the new bike & welcome to the forum. Call the dealer service dept to be sure; they should tell you the torque unless someone has an 07 repair manual. Can't go by the 05-06 because the 07 frame was designed a different way; to have fore flex in it to help steering, so the torque may be different.

The Shoguns are good sliders. That is what I have on my bike. Haven't been tested though and I hope they never have to be tested either. I like them all nice & new looking. LOL.

RE: 07 6R engine mount torque
I talked to my local dealer today and he confirmed that it is 33 flbs. I also got a breaker bar and the left side came loose right away. I am going to finish that one up after lunch, and then on to the right side to loosen the fairing.
Thanks for all the help thusfar. I'm sure I'll have plenty of more questions for you guys.
