Default Electrical Issues

Hey has Kawasaki had any electrical issues in the past on some of the older model ZX-6 bikes. I have a 1995 ZX-6R. Everytime I come up to a redlight sometime the bike almost dies. When I pull out it almost stalls. I have to give it high RPM to get it to move sometime. When I am really giving it throttle it feels like a plug is fouling or maybe losing power. The bike will then take off very fast again. I use to have a 1996 ZX-6 E model that did the same thing once before. I sold the bike and the owner told me it had electrical problems..Please help if any advice

Sounds like it might be some sort of electrical short or disconnect. Another guy just had a similar problem where the positive clamp on his battery terminal was on loose, so occasionally it would die, and come right back to life again. Although yours may not be as easy to find, it's probably something like that or one of the wires may be grounding out to the frame.

Hey Travis, sorry to hear about your bike troubles. Call the service department at you closest dealer and see what they say. If your not sure what it is and rather then chasing a ghost, they may be able to find out what is the problem and fix it. It may cost you a little bit more then if you were to do it on your own, but it will get you back on the road quicker.
