Default cam shaft spocket

Is it visually possible to see if a cam shaft sprocket has spun on the cam shaft? If not, how else would you know?

Thanks.

Of course you can. The two bolts on the sprocket would be sheared off.

Thanks for the reply dragone. Just so I am on the same page, apparently this happened on my friends 08 KX250F (same bike I have and trying to understand what happened). All I have to look at is a PDF of the 06 service manual and I don't see the two bolts you mention that hold the sprocket to the cam. Is my PDF not applicable to the 08? If you don't mind, can you explain the two bolts?

Thanks.

Jeff

My bad. I was thinking you had a street ride for some reason. So I do not have an answer for you. Sorry about that.

No worries. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Thanks.
