Default Bayou Overheating

Hi everyone,I am having trouble with my 1998 kawasaki 300 bayou 4x4.It is air cooled.I have worked on atv's a lot but this one has me stumped. It gets too hot to sit on when I ride it slow.I thought it might be the exhaust so I took the muffler off because at night the pipe would glow red, didnt help,I rechecked the timing.that didnthelp.. ANY help would be great and thanks..
