Default Battery – red to positive?

I’m sorry, I’m a n00b I know…but I have never put in a battery before. So, when connecting, black goes to negative, and red to positive right?

I'm new to this stuff too. I didn't realize when I bought a battery that you have to fill it with the acid yourself. Not a difficult job but if you can --find one that'spre-filled (don't know if they come that way or not)

The only good thing (I think) about getting a battery that you have to fill is you know it hasn't been sitting around. Of course you have to charge it.

Pre-filled batteries have a limited shelf life. It is well worth the extra effort to fill and charge your new battery over buying pre-filled.

Black-negative, Red-positive, unless you're talking about a 1920's era 6-volt positive ground automobile. Those are a completely different animal.

Lol. Imagine riding an old Indian with an ignition advance on the left hand. Aw modern engineering.
