Default backfiring

had my 94 zx9r backfire when trying to start it last nigh. evry once in a while stars fine after a long ride, but when i put it in gear and give it gas it stalls. usuually takes a few minutes to get it started and running fine again. but last night when it did the same i tried to give it gas and it backfired. agtyer again restarting it it ran fine.
what would cause this problem?

At the moment, sounds like it starving itself of fuel. Like the emulsion tubes may be plugging up. Try some choke (after it is started)and see what happens.

To me it sounds like it's flooding it's self. Maybe you need to sync your carbs maybe that would help you out.

So true Bluebeast. Just wanted to see what happens on an easy tryout in running before seeing the plug chop.
