so after looking up these mods and reading about them, I'm not too sure if this is going to help with the problem. I read your arguments with another guy on a different kawasaki forum about the mod and I'm not sure that it is necessarily the right thing to do. I also read one write up on how to do the kleen air mod and he later posted pictures of his air intake box covered in an oily residue from it. Did he do something wrong or did something come unhooked? If I do decide to do this I don't want that happening to me

what size cams do you have? Generally you can ride rid of most of the popping if the air fuel mixture is right. make sure there is no air leak, the injectors are clean, check the plugs.

I am running a kleen air mod on my 10r. Very little popping at the track. It is tuned, as mentioned above, you need to do some adjustments to keep the popping subdued. I have not had any issues on my 10r yet. Except that I have not rode the 'ol gal at sea level yet.

So I did the mod and when I fired the bike up, the FI light is now on, did I screw something up? It sounds like its running strong still and I'm wondering if it is just sensing that I have disconnected the smog stuff. I'm kind of worried about it...

Read up on some of the previous threads concerning that mod. I do know that removing the butterfly cables in the exhaust will cause the FI light on the 10r while using the stock ecu.

Well it sounds kinda like I need to look into getting a pc111 and get it mapped for the bike. I did notice that the foam seal at the front of the airbox was pretty torn up, could this also be a contributing?

And I haven't been able to find anything on other people getting an FI light after this mod...I think I might go back to the stock set up and wait to get a map done, I am still running the stock computer. From all of my reading though it seams like a lot of people don't mind the popping sounds
