You don't want metal. If you damage it you may not be able to twist the throttle. The odds are huge that any throttle tube that fits any KLX250/300 from at least 2009-up will work.
I would recommend you get some aluminum framed hand guards to protect your hands, brake and clutch, and throttle. I am running a set like these:
On my KLX, I have red to match it, there are other colors to be had. On Amazon or ebay they run around $20 and up. These are a match for the Acerbis guards I have on my KLX650. You will cut the end out of the throttle tube and grip to fit them, no problem.
