2008 KLR650 Won't start.
Hi,
My name is Josh and I am new to the forum.
I purchased the KLR650 in July/August when it first came out and rode it all winter 2007, spring 2008, summer 2008, and some of winter 2008 until it got too cold. I left it unsheltered in the cold over the winter and finally moved it back in around December to the garage. I am ready to ride again but it won't start.
I tried jumping it with my car, putting fresh fuel in it, but all I get from it is this fast clicking noise. Today when I tried starting it the engine turned for a couple of seconds but never caught. Then it continued to make the clicking noise.
Does anyone know what is happening? How can I make my motorcycle start?

You need to first start with a fully charged battery or a new one, and then before you try and hit the start button, you need to shut off the fuel, drain the carb bowl, and then let in some fresh gas, pull the choke, I believe its on the left side of the bars, and then give it a try. You probably have two problems, but one needs to be fixed before you can get the gas to fire. Do you have a battery tender? They are about $30.00 at the bike shop and are almost a guaranteed necessity these days.
Good luck.
Good luck.
