ok about the spark. how do i adjust that ao give it more spark? i am goin to check compression sunday. what would be a sign that the rotory valve disk is bad. cracks?

 

Don't know how to give it more spark, apart from replacing any faulty components. Check the rotary disk for cracks, chips and nicks, anything that could mean a leak.

 

i checked the compression and couldnt get it to build over 105 lbs.

yea i thought so too. gonna try to put rings in it and hone the cylinder. i found all the parts i need on ebay for pretty cheap. im going to tear into er this week and see what all is wrong. hopefully just rings.

 

is there any thing else i should replace while im putting in rings?

 

might need piston, gudgeon pin

will need gaskets and gudgeon pin circlips (if you remove piston)

 

i pulled the engine apart last night and all looked ok but im going to rering it and put new gaskets on it then check compression again.

 

ok i got the engine all back together installed and got it runnin. it will run with the choke now as it would not before. it still wants to die on me when i go to take off. i can rev it up and let out on the clutch and it still falls on its face. dumb question, could it be that since i dont have a battery on it that its not getting enough voltage to run?

 

Some 2-smokers use a magneto; is that what you mean?
