RE: 2 problems
i think the battery is just not getting a charge and the bike is running solely off the battery but it deosnt have an alternator so what is the equivalent? as for the speedo thats on you guys that are bike studs!

All right, let me take a stab at it.
Since you have a mechanical cable from the front wheel to the speedo (as I understand you saying), First check your speedo output drive on the hub. Remove the speedo cable from the speedometer head, with the inner drive shaft visible, roll the bike forward and see if it rotates. If it doesn't, your speedo drive hub is bad and needs to be replaced. If it does, you better start looking for a new speedo head.
Your second problem is more of a shot in the dark. I would be guessing either the CDI box, or the ignition pickup assembly is acting up on you. The main ignition coil can also quit sparking once it gets hot. Run the bike until it quits on you, then immediately remove a plug wire, stick a paper in the boot allowing the other end of the clip to be really close to the engine block, and crank the engine over. Do this for every plug wire, and watch for spark. If it does spark against the engine, you likely have a fuel delivery problem. If it doesn't spark, you'll have to narrow it down to one of the ignition components.
