Default 1973 900Z! Coils

New guy here. Does anyone here know if coils off a newer bike will work on a 73 900z1? A friend of mine installed coils off of a 96cbr600f3 on a 79 cb750f and it really picked it up. Just wondering if the same idea would work for the Kaw.

Marc, welcome for the forums.
I'd be careful swapping coils; they're not all interchangable. While newer coils can give you a hotter spark, it can toast the rest of your electrical system (which is rated for the OE coil output.) Having said that, aftermarket coils were a pretty routine upgrade for the old Z's. Check the specs before you turn the key. You might also consider some capacitor plug wires, or "cap-wires." I installed some "Hotwires" (brand) cap-wires on my ZX9 and she runs great!
Welcome again!
