I have been working on my daughter-in-laws bike. After riding it for roughly 15min or so it would start bucking then had no power to pull out. I thought it was a fuel system issue but found nothing wrong. Turns out that the previous own had put some led accent lights on it an a wire was grounding out on the frame. Fixed the short and it was fine for a couple days, then it started again. I started thinking that the short might have fried the stator. So, I checked the voltage output on the stator. When testing it on the 3 yellow wires coming from the stator I get 6.9 volts on all 3 wires @1500 rpm. But, I only get 4.9 volts @ 3000 rpm. Shouldnt that be the other way around and shouldnt those readings be higher ??? And if so, what would be the cause ?
