surface rust

RE: surface rust
You can actually get a little u-shaped wire-bristled brush designed to get three sides of the chain cleaned at the same time. Otherwise its tough to get that inner side of the chain without removing it entirely. Maybe 15 bucks and comes with some de-greaser fluid to get the grease and otherbuild-up(including rust)off the chain and then put some chain lubricant on it. Works well actually. The manual on my bike says to clean and lube the chain every 600 miles and Iactually do that, or pretty close to it. Rust comes off the rotors as quickly as it builds up just bytaking the bike for a decent lengthspin, at least in my experience, so I haven't worried about that. I'd imagine you could take that de-greaser fluid to the rotors toget rust off thembut you might want to check the instructions on the bottle first just to make sure you're not inadvertantly destroying them(I'd be very surprised if that were the case, though, its not like its corrosive stuff like paint-stripper, just cleaning fluid).

BTW, if you want a decent, environmentally friendly (in a way) anti-corrosive liquid which would help remove it from metal surfaces, I'd suggest Coke.It contains so much phosphoric acid that it does the trick even better then a whole lot of other anti corrosive stuff. Just do n't forget to wash it off
