Hi All!
I bought my first Vulcan 750 1992 week ago and the only thing that bugs me (I knew about it before i bought the bike) is the rust on rim of tach and speedo. Did anyone have experience to fight it? What is the best thing to do with that. As I heard it's tipical for Vulcans. Should I clean the surface and paint it black? What do you think.

if i were you id sand the rust spots off and get some typical primer and primer it good.. then just spray it back black. thats what i would do.. im sure there are better ways to do this but if it were mine thats what would be done... hope this helps..

 

Try some metal polish on them maybe that will help you out. Find some thing that will protect the metal to and it shouldn't rust or well it should be maintainable.

 

Try using steel wool very lightly, and then Mother's aluminum polish, best stuff in the world!! Good luck and post some pics when you're done.
