Default need advice on my stands for from forks...

im getting ready to deploy and needed stands asap so my buddy gave me some micron stands just for while im gone for 6 months (got'em for 40 bucks)rear sits on the swingarm and the front stand hooks at the bottom of the forks, where the bolt runs thru to hold the tire on...my other buddy who's been riding forever told me that i need to relax the forks as much as possible...will these stands work without screwing up my bike during storage and while im in the sandbox...help please....pz

my front stand is like this but mines gray

I doubt 6 months will hurt the bike. (Some of the posters on this site only ride 3 months of the year and their bikes do just fine.)

Mine have been ok. No problems yet. Just make sure to fill your tank and put some fuel injection friendly STABIL in it. Be safe over there.

I prefer to pull my tanks normally and fill them with diesel. But filling them fully and adding stabil should resist condensation and rust.
The front stand for the bottom of the forks should do fine. Not as stable as the neck style though. Just keep the tire off of the ground. Either method should not pose a hazard to your front fork seals or springs in that time period. Enjoy your over seas travel time and get back safe.
