My handmade solo seat (pic included)
This is my first attempt to make a solo seat. In the picture you can see a stock seat thats flipped upsidedown to show you the white plastic piece that is just like the one I used to make mine from. All I did was buy a stock seat from someone off the net ($20), put some mold release agent (just some fuggin wax...haha) right on the seat itself, and laid the fiberglass right over a stock seat (already have everything needed). Once that was formed, I took it off and tore the whole seat apart keeping the plastic white piece so it bolted up original. anyway, I glassed in the fiberglass part I made to the white piece to make it one unit. Trimmed it down real nice and out comes the bondo. A couple thin layers of bondo and some grinding and sanding and viola! This is as far as I made it. Total time invested:2 hours so far, with about two more hours to go to get the perfect fit, sand and paint. Another thing Im going to do on the inside before painting is make some sort of hinged storage compartment for this. That way anything small can be thrown right in. Lord knows every little bit of storage on these things help. So far Im satisfied as this still feels very light and it sure is strong as hell. Im not a small man and I can have it on the bike or table and push as hard as I can and this thing doesnt give ANY. Anyways, please tell me what YOU all think! Just please dont hurt my internet feelings...lol

Man that turned out nice. I have played around with fiberglassing so I know what you went through. I like the technique. I probably would have used a chunk of heavy foam (like they put funeral flowers in) and shaped it with a knife, which works well too. However its done, it seems you have done a great job.
