Default zxr 750 slow to go

I bought a J model zxr 750 that's been standing for a while ( a long while), so after sorting the battery and cleaning the carbs, the bike starts easy and revs freely, when I take to the road, she goes to 8 000 revs with no fuss but after that very slow to accelerate to 12 thou.[&o]
Any info on waht might cause the problem will be graetly appreciated.

Hmmm. Maybe the main jets "still" clogged? What do your plugs tell you? (color?)

Yeah,Cleaned them all out, the floating needles where shot though, so replaced all together with seats, plugs where also ok.
Spoke to a friend who recons there is a restrictor in the exhaust, so I should replace with a aftermarket one, sounds abit strange to me but I'm gona check into it!
Cheers mate!
