Default Carbon Fiber Tank pad, Gas Cap Trim & Triple clamp trim

I made my own Gas Cap trim, Tankpad and Triple clamp trim out of Real Carbon Fiber. You can but the sheets on ebay. Make sure you get the thinnest adhesive backed Carbon Fiber sheet. You'll need a small pair of sharp good quality scissors (I used my leatheman scissors), an Exacto knife handle with some sharp pointed blades and some single edged razor blades. First download a picture of the tankpad, cap trim & triple clamp trim or trace the parts from your bike and make a template. Tape the template on the CF and score your outline, then cut out the pattern along the outline. You can cut the smaller details later with the blades. This takes some time and patience and you have to be careful not to slip and cut your hand or fingers. You'll have to go over thr scored marks several times with a razor blade, then you can slightly & carefullybend the CF and it will snap along the cuts. You can also just keep cutting until it cuts through. Use a piece of cardboard under the CF sheet. Sand the edges of the CF to smooth it out, then sandat an angle to fair the edges. Try to keep your CF pattern alignment the same if you're going to make more than one piece so it looks uniform when you install it on the bike. Also make sure when you buy the CF sheet, you get the same pattern. There are 2 types: 1 by 1 and 2 by 2 (also called twill) I got the twill.

I have the better stuff that is flexible Real Carbon Fiber and it can go around bends & corners without creasing or lifting. It has a coating that allows it to stretch also and retains the Carbon Fiber Texture so you can see it. I will be replacing the ones on my bike with the new stuff.

I am going to be the distributor for a company that makes theFlexible REAL Carbon Fiber Decal/ Applique for putting on gas caps, tanks, fairings, even 05-06 ZX6R upper triple clamps. I'll be posting pics of what's available and they have a piece of square material that you can easily cut your own out from. It can go around bends and corners! Amazing! Let me know if you're interested.
I haven't installed it yet but will post up the pics when I do. The older pics of the stiff Carbon are below.

Sweet deal Speed. Can't wait to see pics when you are done. I may do the same thing. Carbon fiber is the bomb.

The triple clamp trim won't bend at the angled slope of the triple clamp so I will have to cut it at that point and piece it together. That is the thinnest and most flexible CF Jeff had so I'll have to make do. The Gas cap and the tank pad should work okay though.

I got the new stuff that will go around bends & corners so the 05-06 upper triple clamp won't be a problem. It's on order.

Mike, The 05-06 triple clamp is very complicated and has a lot of angles. I can make the gas cap but would need a triple clamp to work with to design the CF trim. Anyone have an extra 05-06 triple clamp?

Here are a couple of pics with them installed. I still have to make the holes on the Gas Cap ring trim and install it. I also had to cut the tripleclamp trim and the sharp bends but I think it looks good. I'll have to take better pics in the daytime but here they are for now:
