Hey guys ! just got a new to me 99 kx250 . Upon riding it it has 2 second gears . Gear all the way down is second , one half click up is neutral . Once full click is second . Everything shifts fine . Is it possible that the previous owner has 2 second gears in the bike ? i would kind of like to get some suggestions before i tear the motor apart !

 

Dave, could you maybe be hitting a "false neutral" on your half click? Any input available from the previous owner? You say it otherwise shifts fine??
If you shift "all the way down" that's 1st gear. If you only have one (solid) neutral, I'm confused how you can have two 2nd gears?

 

Its possible. Shifts great. All the way down is definatly 2nd them I shift up it clicks and its still second. So there's no first
