Too many other forums available I guess. I had the same results on this site under the zx1100 section. Post and they shall come.
I'm hoping to eventually trade my ZX11 to the Concours 14. How do you guys like them so far? I hear the valve adjustments are truly a pain.

I have not reached my valve adj mileage yet to have found out(only at around 5k). Any fully faired bike is a PITA to work on when you've come from naked'z. I feel like the performance more than makes up for any little nit-picks. Heat is a real situation though....I have ridden a few different C-14's now and I have to say that each one had it's own type of "hot to the rider" feeling. Mine really dumps some heat on your ankles, another one I rode almost blistered my inside thighs at the seam between the tank and fairings, but mine doesnt do that. One I had ridden for 'bout half a day was so hot I had to trade back to the owner, miserable..
All that means to me, is that it is the placement of the "heat shielding" on these bikes that add to the heat issue. Oh yeh, and the 1400cc's in there. really though absolutely no complaints!!
It's tall, heavy, hot, comes from the factory with CRAP tires, your gonna' want to change windshield right away. Must have some kind of crusie control. Stock front rotors are warping(I personally think from 'sticky' calipers- but no one's listening to me). Manual says to change spark plugs every 6k miles??? 4 minor recalls.....
BUT I WOULD DO IT ALL AGAIN TOMORROW! It is that much of a pleasure to ride!! Remove the "flies", add a few goodies and she's ALL THAT! Fantastic, Superbellous, Bitchin! I dare 'em to make a 1600!

I joined here when I bought my KLX last week but I have an 08 Concours 14 with 83,000 miles. Love it and have had no problems other than a couple of self induced ones. I had an 86 Concours this one is better in every way except valve adjustment and air filter replacement. There are two very popular Concours forums, zggtr.org and the one for COG the Concours Owners Group. I supect that is why there is little activity here.
Heat is an issue on the first gen C14s. Mine had lots of heat on my ankles and the seat.
But not really much worse and sometimes not as bad as other bikes I have ridden. But when you ride a lot and all year the more comfortable the better. There is a guy that makes foam inserts for the lower failring, I bought some and this fixed the ankle heat but made the seat heat worse. There is another guy who says removing the OEM foam heat shields helps with the ankle heat, I have not tried it.

Definitely looks like things are slow in the Concours area of the forum. I just joined, and I have a 2015 Concours that I've had since last June. I'm loving it so far. Haven't made any mods other than adding a big Givi Maxia topcase with Admore lighting installed.

I have the Maxia 55 on mine as well. I had 170,000 trouble free miles on it lasr May when I was rear-ended by a Toyota Corrolla, breaking the main frame in two places. Toyota owners insurance totaled it and gave me 6300 for my non abs 08. I found another 08 but ABS and only 49, 000 miles for 3500.
