newbie '85 900zx anthoer carb problem ???
new to the forum looks like a great place to hang out. i'm new to sportbikes mostly have ridden dirtbikes.i bought it as a project bike and been having fun with it so far.
ok so here's how i've screwed it up so far ha!
got the bike it was running rough stumbbles off idle took a long time to idle smooth.
i took to carbs apart cleaned and installed carb kits adjusted floathieghtsetfuel mix screws at 2.5 turns.
got it running better no more stumbles idles ok,little rich,i'll work on that but runs fine nice and smooth.
here's where it gets weird...
i took the exhaust apart to replace some leaking gaskets and replace the rad. clean and flushed.
while the bike was apart i washed down everything w/ engine cleaner and water ( i think this is the problem)
and put it back together now it starts right up and idles but when i snap the throttle it almost dies like it running out of gas.
goes back to idle fine also runs fine above 4k rpm. i don't want to rip back into the carbs unless i have to there a pain to take off.
thanks for any help

Thanks for the welcome! i did check and have replaced all vac. lines. this thing has got me! maybe something is blocking a main jet?
it only happens when you hit the throttle hard from an idle. also plugs look fine.

Thanks for the welcome, i have keihin cv k34 they sync off the #2 carb,1-3-4 is what i used,if thats what your asking.
sync is fine (needs a little fine tuning but pretty close) idle and slow jets work fine fire right up idles fine choke works as it should, going from slow to main it just dies out but gets better after is warm.
i took them out of the bike just to check everything and i can't see anything wrong. bowl height is right, slow and main jet curcuit's are clear diaphams ok got me,they were working fine before i washed down my bike. i'm thinking maybe ignition or something else.
