SoI was about to order online one of those chrome visors for my headlight but I need to know what size headlight. My question is what do you measure? Is it the headlight surface or the chrome bezel outside or ?? The bike isa 96 Vulcan 800,

There are only two different standard sizes on the Vulcan 800 series from '96-'05, with the larger being on the Classic, at 7". This is measured from the outside to the outside of the smaller inner bezel surrounding the lens (you are measuring the lens itself). I believe the smaller headlight (on the non-classic) is either 5" or 6", but there is no magic to it, don't be looking for 1/4 or 1/2 inch increments... it's either 7" for the larger, or the 5" or 6" for the smaller, but that should become obvious when you measure to the outside edge of the lens. Have fun!

Make sure you let me know how it works out... the visor is on my wish list but it didn't make it to the top of the priority list yet! If you get a good deal and you don't mind sharing where you got it, by all means do tell... I'm up here in Canada, so I have to watch shipping and duty charges, I've found www.cruisercustomizing.com and www.leossouth.com to be pretty good for that...

Yup, Ottawa! Now I see why your username is greyday... both the spelling (CDN) and the weather we've had this Spring! [:'(]
Did you go to Dover?

No, did not make it. Was planning to but my buddies bike threw a sprocket or something two days before (Harley!). Not really comfortable with such a long haul by my lonesome.
