Default Wider rear tire possible?

I'm awaiting delivery of my new 2006 Nomad and am wondering if there's a wider rear tire that'll fit without having to modify this 'n that or will screw up X,Y, and Z ??? And, on the same note, is there a tire size (front, rear, front/rear combo) that will correct the speedo error from the factory?

Thanks again!!!

Default RE: Wider rear tire possible?

It is possible, however you have to change the swing are and everything else. Nomads are not made to go with the 240 rear tire. They are a touring bike. You may get away with a180 or 190 for a rear but you are going to be limited. with sizes. There is not much out there for Kawasaki Nomad's. I just switched my 05 1600 Nomad Tires with Metzelers Wide White Wall tires and had to go down in size for the rear. So instead of the 170/70/16 I had to go with 150/80/16. Not much out there. Keep asking questions and even call Metezler, Avon, Dunlop, and the other mfgs. They will talk to you about tire sizes for your bike. I was surprised when I was looking and decided to call. Aske for a Tech and they will spend the time to tell you what they know about fitment and recommendations. Worked for me.
