Tell you what, with the revelation of the gas tank recall Kawasaki have just sent notices out about, IMS would be smart to get these tanks out the door ASAP! When one talks about striking whilst the iron is hot, the iron is not going to get much hotter than it is now!

In fact, an email to Chuck to that effect would probably not be a bad idea - get this tank bumped up the priority list to move into production now seeing as it is "so close".

I hadn't head about a recall

I never got a letter from Kawi about the chance that my gas tank could leak. Good thing I never burst into flames while screaming across Johnson Valley, although that would make a pretty cool avatar.

Ya, I always ask 'em if I can pre-order for that very reason! They never answer me tho haha.

Just got an email from Jack at IMS. He says that they now officially have a part number built into the system for a black tank!

He wasn't sure about other color options (black, clear & green probably), nor did he know what the exact price would be yet. He said he'd get back to me as soon as he had some more answers.

Yes now is the time for that tank. I just my 2 recall notices for both my bikes and I don't even have my first 500 on both of them. If anyone hears of a preorder list......count me in!!! Hopefully these teaser pics won't be just that!!

Will these tanks have baffles or just an open design?

If it's like the IMS I have on my Husky is is just open for the fuel to slosh around.

In light of the recall notice I e-mailed Chuck Wheat at IMS regarding status of the 09-10 tank. He responded with pictures (prototype) of the new tank. (I'd post them but they are on my work email). Looks like the stock tank on steriods. Estimated gallonage is 3 but they won't know until its molded.
