That tank looks killer! I'm drooling at the thought of having an extra gallon of fuel!

 

The Acerbis locking gas cap functions in locking and non-locking mode so you don't necessarily need the key to open it. Maybe the IMS will be similar? Do they have locking caps for other models?

 

From chuck regarding prices and cap:

"I haven’t heard anything about pricing yet, as for the cap; no, sorry our tank will use our cap."

Bumpski.. hopefully they are a lockable cap (I highly doubt it!)

Dual sport bike without a locking cap? I guess our trucks don't have locking caps but I hope there will be a way to lock it.

I'm sure there is an aftermarket locking cap..
I am still waiting to hear from Chuck whether they offer a locking cap..

 

I just looked on justgastanks site for the IMS tank for KLX. On the same page was an "customers also bought" link to the Acerbis locking cap. May be an option if IMS doesn't make them directly. The justgastanks guys have been very helpful.

The Acerbis locking cap note is not so reassuring :

"Will also fit most IMS and Safari tanks but we can not guarantee this as we have had many NOT fit for unknown reasons. We will return these items but will not pay for any shipping."
