Default zzr600 exhaust and performence advise

finaly found the online kawasaki hotspot! hello KF.
have 2008 zzr600, looking to do some performence mods, and havent been getting any straight answers, i hope KF can help!
how much of a performence increase can i expect from yoshi or two bros bolt on exhaust? i hear two bros is a deeper sound, how bout yoshi? i dont like high pitch whiny sound.
other than rejetting, air filter and exhaust, any otherperformence mods? i have also heard of "free mods" one can do themself at home, what are those?
any help/ advice on these issues is most appreciated. thank you

You can't do the paper clip mod on this bike if that is what you are asking, but with rejetting I increased the performance quite a bit, and scorpion exhaust is what I am going with. Also, go with a good full synthetic oil, that made an unbelievable difference with my bike. Good luck.

I almost forgot...let it breath and get a K&N for it, that was the first thing I did and it made a difference, get the suspension set up properly first though, I had a local maintenance guru that used to race the bike when it was the 6r set mine up for me and it was a huge breakthrough for the bike.

so your first performence mod was the air filter? and you noticed a difference with just that alone? which brand of synthetic oil you use? and are there any long or short term negative effects using said oil?

Along the lines of full synthetic oil, at what milaege do you start using it? Would you recomend it for a brand new ZZR with under 10 miles? I am going to start using Amsoil full synthetic in my KLX in the spring but that has 1100 miles on it.

I changed to full synthetic amsoil with 1200 miles on the clock. I broke my ride in with 3 dino oil changes prior to the switch. I wanted to bed the gears, rings and clutch pack in prior to the synthetic switch. Does not mean much except for what I feel towards engines. I have not had any issues with the ride after doing that.

My opinion is to not switch to synthetic until well after the break in period. There's probably other reasons for it, but I know that you're going to get alot more debris in your oil during break-in and conventional oil is so much cheaper. Another thought is that synthetic is more "slippery" than conventional oil and I'd be concerned about it's ability to carry away that debris to the filter as it should, damaging your engine. I may be WAY off base there, but it's just a thought.

I agree with drag and changed over after 2 or 3 oil changes. As far as brands...that is always a hot topic. I have used the castrol, the bel-ray, and am thinking of sticking with amsoil from now on. All three were good synthetic oils, but the amsoil is reported to protect against corrosion better.

My first change was the air filter, I noticed a little difference, but addingthe jetkit is what really woke the bike up. Better tires, brakes, and gettingthe suspension set upmadethe bike feel like a whole different animal.

A sprocket change would help too.

Drag and Deuce, makes a lot of sense. I did 2 oil changes before the recomended 600 mile first service with my KLX and did one more at 850. The next one will be with Amsoil Synthetic. I have done a bunch of reading and Amsoil seems to be the one. I think I'll do the same with my ZZR. And at least the filter is easier on the ZZR than the KLX.
