It is the parking light...if you turn the key past the locked position it stays on.

Yeah...but when I first boguht the bike I turned the key too far...end result...dead battery, just watch out for that.

yeah dead battery the first time i made that mistake... WTF is that option used for? i have never been able to think of one.

I think it is for parking in the city for short periods of time so your bike is more visible to cars when par.parking...thats what I always assumed.

Its a skid row bling chick magnet. Cruise night thing. Not really sure on the legit purpose though.

Nver used it for any legit purpose...maybe it is the "automatic battery drainer"

zzrick wins the prize; it began as a "euro" thing, but Kaw probably decided to save money by using one universal ignition. It's explained in some of the older owner's manuals.
