Just bought my first street bike

RE: Just bought my first street bike
Ahh it's not about the whoopin! Besides, if she can outrun me on the bike, she might not try to run away in other areas ;-) LOL
We got the ZZR for her and had it properly lowered and such as her inseam is a little shorter than mine, plus it's about 100lbs lighter than the Kat, so easier for her to hold even at the stops etc.
We'll both be enjoying the bikes for years to come
Just heard from her that minute actually .. bike won't be delivered until tomorrow now But she got to sit on it, and even with her sandals (flat thing crocs) she's completely flat footed on both sides So with her riding boots on, she'll be good to go.

Hey Falaholic, welcome to the forums. I just traded/sold my 09KLX on an 08ZZR600 for the wife. We should be getting it today hopefully. I'm sure once it's broken in, if you baby it around town and such you should be able to get great milage out of it. I have an 05 Katana 750 which does awesome. Had a ride with a buddy, varying speeds from 50km/h to highway, etc. We didn't push much other than a few tweeks. 108km on 4.7litres. So roughly 4.4litres per 100km which is 53mpg (US) or 64mpg (Imp). So it's quite possible that your 600 which is about 100lbs lighter should be able to do that too. I'm hoping so on ours
Congrats on the new ride in any event, and again, welcome to the forums.

RE: Just bought my first street bike
Gearing I guess would be the biggest factor in it. Both bikes are similar in power (according to dealer) and the zzr as I say is lighter and therefore doesn't work as hard to acheive the same result. Of course, as you say they are two different bikes, but I would expect them to have very similar fuel consumption with the ZZR getting the upper hand in similar riding conditions.
