Gap question
I just chaged oil and installed new plugs(NGK CR9E) and the bike is running like H E double hockey sticks. starts just fine w/ choke but afterit warms up a bit and it's time to close off the choke the bike will die if I do so, but will start right back up w/ choke of course. Throttle response is terrible and I've even given it more than enough time to run and straighten itself out but w/ no luck. Also the exhuast smells like gas and is extremly rich. Now for my question what gap is the ZZR600 spark plugs suppose to have I'm hoping the gap is just off and if i regap them that will take care of the problem. Thanks again guys and gals if any are ZZR owners.

RE: Gap question
Dragone told me what the gap was supposed to be when I did mine, did you gap them at all? Out of the four that I bought I think that 3 were pretty far off. I think the gap was around .30. Check your fuel filter too. Mine was nasty.

RE: Gap question
My fuel filter looks to be clean but how can i check it? do i just have to take it off and look inside it and if so how do i see in side of it. I did gap all of the new plugs and only one was far off but I ended up putting the old ones back in. Apon doing so i ran into the same problem and I had a "bike buddy" over that knows more than me and I heRAN the bike a bit and it seemed to clear up some. The bike will now run on its own w/out any choke but still is very rough and hesitates when given gas under 6k RPMs. thanks for the advice I'm slowly gaining on it. I'm new at bikes but I'm really getting the fealing that it's a carb prob. tomorrow I'm gunna get some Carb cleaner to see if i just have some bad gas that gummed up my carbs... is that a possibility?
