this is what my wife wrote on her myspace
I know a few people that have the GSXR1000, that bike is nothing to be messing around with. Even guys that have been riding for awhile say that bike is serious.
You need to sit her down on this forum, talk to Shon, Bluebird, myself and let us smack some sense into her. Bikes are nothing to be playing around with.

i have a set right here on the bed post

we have kids. Ok now that I have your opions, and i agree. She only wanted the gixer b/c of its looks, nothing else. She likes alot of bikes right now. She likes the 250 or 500 ninja. She thought the 650R was ok. She likes the suzuki gf500 and the 600 katana. But she also likes her brothers bike. A yamaha v star. (she can actually touch the ground on that bike) Just kinda depends on how munch money i have at the time. When I first saw her post I about died laughing amd figured I had to share it with you. If any of you guys remember the dog walking the gixxer bit, thats where she got the idea apperently.
Nothing wrong with a gal on a liter or 600 size bike just as long as she and or he for that matter has the experience an skill to ride it. I started out on a 750 and had no problem, not to say I am special, no jokes please, but just took it easy. I had also been ridding dirt bikes for some time so I had an understanding of how bikes work.
If she could not stop a bike that was heading for the sidewalk there is a lack of experience there for sure.
Well what ever way you guys go I hope it all works out for the best, it's cool as hell that she is into ridding.
BTW I like the gsxr as well it is one sweet *** looking bike after you take off that ugly pipe

I liked alot of bikes before I got mine. I first wanted the Suzuki GS500 then I wanted a GSXR600, then I wanted the CBR600, then I wanted the R6 ( mean I still love the R6), but when my friend first told me about the 636, I was like Nah, I don't want a Kawasaki, but once I laid my eyes on her. I was in love. But Shon and Bluebirds bikes are GREAT bikes, I think she should start out with something safe. Those bikes have ***** too! V-twin bikes are easier to sit on because of the lower seats, but like my very first bike (Honda Shadow) those bikes are heavier. So unless she has strong legs, v-twins can be hard to stand at lights.
If she likes the look of the gixxer - she should go for the GS500, but if you want her on a Kawi, tell her that the Ninja 500 has more HP than the Zuki (its true, so you won't be lying!)
Good luck, I hope she stays off a 1000 for a while...........riding is about much more than sitting on a really nice looking bike.
