So I've always been curious of this..

So say you're on a ride on the highway or a back road by your lonesome, going 10 or 15 over, And a cop guns you. What happens? Of course he pulls you over, and maybe gives you a ticket.

But lets say this.

Instead of by your lonesome, you're in a group. Lets say 5 or maybe 10 of you. Perhaps more. You're riding the same road, and all of you are going 10 or 15 over. A cops tags the group, and then what happens? Is the cop gonna try to get the whole group on the side of the road and ticket them all? Or is he not gonna bother? Anyone have any experience with this?

 

he'll probably pick off the ones in the back...the ones out front will un@ss the area and the back of the pack will be ticketed (if they stop) some states/cities will have a no chase policy when it comes to bikes...

 

WA state patrol will try and pull everyone over.

 

we just went on a 250 mile ride just north of you we saw 8 cops in 4-5 hours.
on our ride in OR (1400+ miles) over three days we only saw a couple and only right in the towns, once we got "out" the roads were empty- it was AWESOME !!

 

I got stopped once in a group of cars. I asked why I got stopped instead of someone else. His reply.. You were the last one in line.

 

You run like hell!

 

My freind was riding in a small group and got they got pulled, the cop walked up to them and the first words he said were, "Why did you stop?" he was so stunned they they didnt run he didnt know what to do and just let them go. Kinda sad that we get reputations like that. Besides if you have a large group and a cop pulls you all over, the chances of him taking the time to run everybody and write everyone tickets are slim, and please correct me if I'm wrong but a cop can only hold you for 20 minutes unless you are being arrested, and it would take longer than that to write the tickets in which case you can simply ride off when the clock runs out. So why chance it?

 

Split up and haul ***! The last time a cop gunned me like that, I was on a lake road in North carolina. I knew the road well, and also knew that he did not have a place to turn around for at least a mile, ( narrow two lane road ). I was just about two miles from home. Well I opened up the 14 across the damn and turned off to the road that led to my house. I was on the back porch watching him come across the dam by the time he turned around and started the chase!

 

Every cops a criminal....
