Default Waiting list for the MSF course?

How far in advance would you guys (and girls) recommend signing up for the MSF course? Is there usually a long waiting list to get in? I wanna get in as soon as the snow melts next year so I can hopefully ride the whole summer.

sounds to me like your in a spot with snow in the winter... here in TX, the courses are all year round due to no snow, just cold.. i would suggest that you call to find out if they might offer an "on call" course or something like this... i don't know if there is such a thing, but i would check... hell, it can't snow all the time... and most courses as far as i know are held on big parking lots of some kind..

i would want to get it asap just in case i had some freak weather and it was nice.. put yourself on the list now anyway if they have one.

Here in GA the only thing that stops a class is ice on the parking lot. We almost started out class out in the rain, thankfully (or not, would have been nice to find out the traction on wet pavement) it didn't rain.

You may want to register ASAP, even if it's for a class next summer. In WA State, the state govt. subsidises the cost of the course which brings it down from like 250 bucks to just 100. Of course, there are a limited number of these subsidised courses and they fill up quick. Your state may be different.

I don't know about winter courses... but out here (where it rains, or at least drizzles more often than not), it was a rain or shine event. And it rained for the first half of the 2nd riding day... so that was pretty interesting... The bikes handle a lot better than I had thought, you just have to take it easy, go slower, a lot less lean, and easy on the brakes. Also avoid any slick spots like painted lines, oil spots at intersections, and ruts where water has pooled... Otherwise, it's not hard, just not all that pleasant...
