Default US - 9 out of 10 people have firearm

statistiacally of course. Still, this gives some food for thought. Here's the source article:

If I were living in USI'd probably arm myself, knowing that theres so many firearms around i would be way more confident having one.

You forgot one additional stat Nik....8 out of 10 own multiple guns and 7 out of 10 own an assault weapon

It's our 1st amendment to the Constitution.....remember we're rebels from England....We will not allow our Government to get too powerful to dictate any rule against our Citizens.....kinda keepsBig Brother in check.

The government knows this and does notwant 300 million ARMED citizen protesting and rebelling against the Washington.

Being from Poland you should fully understand the problem with an all powerful government and no checks from the people.

The problem with this is that there are plenty of firearms in America, but not enough people with firearms.

I know quite a few that don't own a single gun. Where as I have multiple firearms as well as assult rifles. The media has done such a good job at painting the gun as the problem (and not people in general) that the ignorant people buy into the hype thinking that if only the guns were gone life would be better and crime would go away. The government can't keep drugs off the street and they sure as hell will not be able to keep guns out of the hands of the criminals.

Only due to improper definition and calssification.

Niklucas... just because your neighbors are armed shouldn't be the reason you are. That's paranoia speaking. If it were "that bad", then trust me - we would be offing each other faster than you could count.

That being said - you should probably read this: The Gun Fact Book

I'd rather have a gun and not need it, than not have a gun and need one!!

I have my share.
