So... want has overpowered logic..
So.. a while ago I posted about my lack of space to keep a motorcycle.. but I still really want one. Anyways, my question is, will a motorcycle be ok outside?
We live in a condo in a pretty small development. The place it would be parked is a lot in the back of our condo. It's usually a fairly empty lot. The condos are set fairly far back from the main road (you can't see the parking lot from the road, unless you really try). It's in New England, so assume normal weather condition for a NE summer (thunderstorms, rain, etc). So if I covered it at night, would I be alright?
My biggest concerns are obviously: theft, there wouldn't be anything solid to chain it too, and falling over to due weather or something.

it will be fine, get a $60 disk lock with a siren in it and a rubber coated chain with a lock and you will be fine. chain up the rear wheel to the passenger peg or swing arm and make sure you get one of those kickstand disks or make one yourself out of a crushed soda can.

I was just gonna use a piece of wood for the kickstand.
Do they make bike alarms? Not really sure how that would work but something that alerted me if my bike was being messed with? I know cars have ones where the keychain attachment beeps or something.

So it detects vibration? Seems like every gust of wind would set that thing off. The remote engine cutoff and proximity sensor look interesting, though.

i got to play with one this weekend. As far as vibration, you had to touch the bike and create a slight movement on it. Wind isn't an issue. The guys bike it was on said it cost him $300 with the plug in connectors for his wiring harness. He said it was painless and took less than 30 minutes. I liked it!!!!
I have to store my bike outside. Its waterproof, too bad i'm not
