Oh no, I totally agree with you uni. I had thought about going back in for like 5 minutes a couple years ago when civilian life was pissing me off cause of all the political BS in the workforce. But I didn't want to go over to fight in a war I don't fully believe in and support. Plus I didn't trust Bush to not go the 3rd step he has been thinking of for about 5 or 6 years now and that's going after Iran while we're still in Afghanistan and Iraq.

 

If you want to be a pilot in the military (fixed wing) you have to have a 4 year degree and be an officer. I believe you can fly heli in the army and be enlisted however I am not 100% on that.

 

You would be correct sir. Virtually all Army helicopter pilots these days are Warrant Officers (aka Flight Warrant Officers). They are kinda of in the middle of Commissioned Officers and enlisted, but come from the enlisted ranks. The W/O school is insane, they have to earn the right to walk and low crawl until they do. Then as helicopter pilots W/O are insane. If you hear one say "Hey watch this!" as he's flying.............. hold the hell on and hope you don't lose your lunch.
