I made that much on the 4th &5th of July when I work a holiday I get triple time

 

I agree evil , those jobs are out there but most of the ones I have found come with some sacrifice ...........such is my case .I lose some weekend time .

 

im talking 40 hours or less 5 days a week.

 

a lot depends on your locale , here in East Tennessee those with 40 or less hours are hard to get because those who have them tend to stay in them 'til retirement .I understand where your comin from .I could be makin more if I was willin to relocate but home is home .

Well a friend of mine just told me he is hiring some one for his department for an I.T. job. the pay is a lot more then I make now. He said the job will be available in 2 months. Starts at 21.60 an hour. It may seem like people in CA get paid a lot but man the price of stuff out here is crazy. I have a 2 bedroom town house I rent and I'm paying just under 1k a month for rent. That is some what cheep for this area.

 

yeah i live about an hour south of washington DC (just outside the range that classifies it as a dc commuter area, and no mass transit either)

a 2 bedroom townhouse rental will run about 1200 a month here. I bought my house 3 years ago for 140K (3 bedroom on an acre) and 2 years later it was worth 210K. I've been biulding an addition and by the time its done it will be worth about 450K.

now i just need to find a fun job out in tennesee or something where its cheap and i can sell this house and buy one ore two out there with cash from the sale. its crazy the cost of living in the areas of high job concentration (maryland, new york, orlando, california)

Pretty much 50% of CA is priced high. 3 bedroom houses in my area go for 300-400k. drive 40 min and they jump to 500-800k

 

Thats they way it is in the bay area Notstock. I'm 40 min away from sanfrancisco and 1 hour away from san jose or better known as silicon valley. The only place you can find a house for around 200k now is up near navada or off of I-5 in fresno madesto areas. [:@]
