I feel like whoring it up 2 (official new whoring thread)
Speaking of crappy radiators. We had a 650 prairie in the shop and the stock radiator finally blew where the bottome hose goes into the radiator. Replaced it with a new one from kawi. That one wasnt any better. Sent it off to get it fixed. Still not working. Finally fixed it on the second try. I swear stuff is just gettin ****tier and ****tier haha. Of course that is the FIRST prairie radiator I have ever had to replace.
I do not like OE rads because you simply cannot effectively repair them! I finally got so tired of them, I had a brass/copper tube job hand-built for the 9. I've had a rock or two in the fins. No problem; take it off, clean, solder, good as new. Holds and extra quart. Don't run a cooling fan at all, now.

Update: progress is, he was able to weld on the new mounting tab BUT in the process heated up the patch weld it now has the smallest pin hole. s he refunded me money and i took it home and used JB weld on that somebitch. during all that he lost the bottom bushing to my radiator mount, so i had to order wich the tech failed to mention it was a two peice bushing
so after two orders ill pick up the second bushing peice tonight and start the install and check for leaks. I "might" use stop leak depending if it still leaks. I don't like that crap though:sad:
Jeff: im thinking aftermarket rad next.
Bleedgreen68: it's always time to party up in this thread! wooooohoooo
stay tuned for more of the hoedogg radiator saga!

Heard from the kawi rep that kawi is comin out with a 4 seater teryx and a fast mule which is what everyone wanted in the beginning but got the the teryx instead. I love the teryx though and will own one soon hehe.
I feel your pain, Hoe. (That kinda stuff just makes me crazy.)
As for using stop leak.........keep this image in your head, visualize your water pump, and repeat after me: "Jeff says NO, Jeff says NO, Jeff says NO...."

update: my battery died during the time it took to fix the leak. but the rad is not leaking. some JB weld over the shops nasty patch job and she holds water just fine now. now just need to put the plastics back on.
Jeff: i toatally feel ya on the stop leak, i just can't bring myself to use it.

Hoe, after repeated hot/cold cycles on the JB Weld, she'll probably let go, so be careful. I'd give it 4-6 months max. That will give you enough time to find a solid replacement rad. Get out and ride it while it lasts.
