Default Helmet mod

Hey guys just got back from a three day weekend at the mother-in-law's doing the usual yard work and what not, anyway on the way there I stopped in the bike shop and picked up one of these, and I just installed it on the MX helmet, and I have to say its the bomb!! The Shazzizle, and the shizbit all rolled into one.cut off the D rings and installed it and now no more fumbling with the stupid strap. It exceeds testing requirements. I'm getting another one for the road helmet, the other Vega black helmet and the wife's two helmets and my son's helmet. Man the three of us have a total of 6 helmets. Make it stop!!

I've used those for years. I never cut the d-rings off though.

They are the handiest thing you can do to your helmet.

I had one on my old helmet- I didn't cut the D rings off either... they are very useful- especially if you try to buckle up while having gloves on . . .

Nice looking device. But I am in the habit of things. Get the helmet on after starting the ride, getting the helmet and gloves on type of thing. By then the ride is warmed up.

That is called a fast-ex buckle. They have been used for years in outdoor products like back packs, bags, ect.. I have bad gear experiences with 'em. My girl friend works for Cycle Gear, and she says that hey can't sell, or order them because they have been known to break. As I recall they used to make helmets with 'em, and they don't anymore.

Well thanks guys for the input, I am really happy with the choice, and I will be installing them on the other 5 helmets. The buckle is actually metal to metal, and exceeds strap requirements. So I am sure its fine.
