got a ticket.....
yep..... be carefull bro. I know the police are there to protect and serve, but like any buisness, and yes it is a buisness, now jmo... they cant move forward without money so any little infraction will generate them the revenue needed to keep there buisness running. ride safe and in the legal limits.....
Hey man, sorry about your luck with the red light. But if you decide to go to court to contest it, just be honest with the judge and explain that you have a great driving record and that you made a mistake and would appreciate it if he could just waive the point violation that goes with the fine. Basically just be polite and you'll be surprised how far it goes. I'm a police officer in Ohio and have yet to see a judge throw out a red light/speed violation in our municipal court (even when people hire lawyers to help them). As far as the trial goes, it boils down to your word vs. the officer that stopped you and the judge will usually side with the officer cuz contrary to what some people believe, we don't just make up violations and pull over people for no reason. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to complain or b**ch at anyone on the forums as I've run red lights myself. Just be honest and suggest that the points could be waived and I think you would have some luck. Or, give me your mailing address and I'll hook you up with an FOP card(get out of jail free card so you don't get a ticket next time! JK lol)
i got it in the cage.......haven't been on the road with the bike yet, hopefully this weeeknd. i work nights so even if i had my permit i wouldn't be able to ride it to work
........after i get better i might just do it mfs isn't til june and not sure if i can wait that long. in any event, more work = less bike time, but no money = less bike time haha, so i figure stock up on cash this month, then go back to normal hours next month.

i couldn't remember who teh police officer was, now that i know it was you.......how much does a ticket usually run for such violation, it was a mistake even though i'm sure i did it. not like i was saying i can beat this light especially since i saw the cop dead ahead. would it be best to plead guilty and get the fine/points, or plead not guilty and state my case? thanks in advance. now i really gotta go to work, hah, later all
In Northeast Ohio, where I work, the red light fine is $125, give or take a few bucks. If you waive the ticket (mail it in) then you'll get 2 points on your license. If you decide to go to court to contest it, then you may be able to pursuade the judge into waiving the points/ reducing the fine. There is also the chance that the officer who wrote you the ticket may not show up to court on the day you contest the violation-if so, then the case is dismissed and you don't owe anything. Of course, if the officer shows up, you will have to continue with the case. If you decide to go to court, you can also enter a plea of guilty and since you've shown up, you will be able to say a few words to the judge before he assesses the fines/ penalties. If you decide to enter a plea of not guilty, then you will still have the opportunity to speak with the judge and you will also get to ask the officer who wrote you the ticket questions about the violation. Hopefully this info helps a little bit
