we could also push for more electric cars. most people commute less than 20 miles to work. get the companies to put in recharging posts on the parking lot so you can drive to work, recharge, drive home, recharge. its said to cost about 10 cents per mile in electricity. install solar panels on your roof and do even more to help.

I still find it odd that my car got better MPG then my bike did. I would get about 34-36 MPG on my bike in city and my car gets 36-38 MPG in city. Give me a nice strech of level freeway and I could pull 45 MPG in my car no problem. Funny thing is my car is a 95 civic and gets better MPG then most new cars. I have a budy with a bone stock CRX and that thing gets killer MPG. 40+ MPG in the city.

its the *** hats that only get 5 gallons to the mile that insist on driving their big *** trucks. steller is right its called supply and demand. the demand is higher and everone is willing to pay more cuz well we have too. The average person does not want to depend on public transportation mostly cuz its smelly old bums that ride it. If everyone switched to motorcycles the world would be a better place
Um if everyone switched to motorcycles then we wouldn't be cool anymore, we would just be another rider. And besides we don't want to end up like this do we?[8D]

Besides Rick, the President doesn't have anything to do with any of it. It's all controlled by the Illuminati! The President is just a public face put into office by the Illuminati to do their bidding! Oh, wait... were you serious about letting the conspiracy theorists take over, or were you joking?
Joking Vic...lol.

I am just sick of the ignorant conspiracy ppl. You want someone to blame? How about these guys?

Interesting note, I went to their website last week to see if the story was true, and it was completely different, and they were calling out Americans, and talking trash about Christians and Jews, but all of the other content was gone, it was just a bone-stock plain blue website. I go back today and it is back to the site fox wrote the story about. I hate these guys.

those commercials crack me up. for a while i drove a plymouth horizon than could get 40mpg highway. also drove a ford escort that happily got 36mpg. its easy to get over 30mpg. so why are the car companies having such a hard time these days? or are they?

i think part of the problem is that cars are heavier because of all the nonsense confort features like the cupholder in a toyota echo, second i blame the "safety" features of a car like mandatory airbags and side protection. and third and i think most important is the fact that they gear these cars weird, to make them seem like they are powerful enough. they gear them low so people are satified with a smaller engine. (My brothers Scion XB rides at 4500rpm @ 70mph) in the past a small engine felt like a small engine. i know because i rode a suzuki swift that had a 1.3 4-banger (stick) (it would average about 48 mpg) and when ever someone else would get in the car i could feel it
