I'm not a football fan. I am only into women, fast bikes, and guns in that order. And of course engineering, gotta make money ya know!
I just cannot set around long enough to watch football. The only time I watch football is on Superbowl Sunday cause there are always party's for that! Strange but true dude! |
P.s., i'm happy under my rock!

The Odyssey had a slight delay, my neighbor in my warehouse complex had a customer that wanted to replace the waterpump in two Yammi outboard 250s......ummm Finger Mullet to the rescue and three hours later, two pumps installed and $3 bills in Finger Mullet's Pocket. :D Not bad for slacking around the warehouse drinking carbs. ;) Let the Odyssey Begin. New case and Motherboard. Attachment 20922 My two 24" lcd's and the old maxed out puter. Attachment 20923 |
Hey FM, good way to save money, brand name systems are way overpriced, except Mac's of course, but their OS actually works so the value in them is the software. :)
Anyway, I've built hundreds upon hundreds of systems like you're doing. "Build" is a little strong of a word for it. Here's a tip. Just plug all that **** in and turn it on. You'll be golden. :D Oh, and don't spill your carbs on anything that has wires coming out of it. |

Well, I must admit it's been a while for me. We did it for work, hundreds of systems for a compute cluster, and frequent upgrades as newer faster hardware became available. The heat sink is so big because those chips run so dang hot. Think about how hot a 130 watt light bulb gets. That's what the heat sink has to keep cool. Also, it allows for a slower running fan which is more quiet, you'll be glad of it if it is sitting anywhere near you. Just drop the CPU in there - carefully of course, make sure you're grounded good, touch something metal on the case, don't want any static, but this time of year is probably not much of a problem, esp in FL with high humidity. Make sure you apply any heat sink grease that came with it and remove any protective coverings from the CPU itself. Needs to make good contact with the heat sink.
