Finger Mullet's Odyssey....My First Computer Build
Building my first puter, just thought I would share, wish me luck.
5/8/2009 1pm
Parts arrived today...time to start.
Background:
I needed a new computer for my new side business....environmental software development.....the 5 year old, $499 at the time of purchase, machine just wasn't cutting it.
What I need.... a Business only machine that can develop multi threaded C# applications with way serious SQL queries and portable if possible....and no laptop currently made in a reasonable price range will cut it.
I specified a new desktop machine at Dell....$3,450
F' that, I'll build one.....I hope
What I Bought:
Budget $1k

Camera charging and reading instructions
Manual for Motherboard alone is 162 pages
I forgot to show my "portable" case the above goodies go in.....a Thermaltake Lan Box
Mfg pic for now
A pic of the motherboard....expandable to 24 gigs
I'm just putting in 6 gig for starters and see how she runs.
