I'll probably buy my kid's first car, but it's gonna be a non-running junker that they have to rebuild before they can drive it.

Rotten, it may be... But they will not have to take it to a mechanic an get ripped off, because they'll know the car inside and out. Not to mention, they will have a great appreciation for it.
