Thanks for caring guys... I've been down before (got a scar to prove it) but its a risk I assume by hopping on the bike. Its just like people that are advocates for seatbelts. Well, I used to work CSI for Mobile PD and there were many people who got decapitated and their heads crushed because they were in a seatbelt. Stand back and evaluate how many times you have performed routine tasks without the proper PPE or training? How many times have you climbed the seemingly harmless ladder at home without the proper fall protection or cut wood without a respirator or safety glasses. What about moving heavy objects without wearing steel toe boots. It goes in all directions guys. All .we can do it be as safe and careful as we can be, which includes wearing proper PPE at all times regardless of the situation.
BUT
I'm still not going to wear my gear to make a 2 block ride up to the coastline to look at the beach.
Captain can wear his in that 130 degree weather. But for me, I will be in the tank top and shorts.

i live in sc there is no helmet law down here either, its retarded. all these damn squids out here, plus you dont have to wear eye protection either so no helmet no eye protection. I work with ppl that do that i call them idiots to their face
+1 on that,, Like srobaks saying in his sig.. Throw a squid the bird lol... We have the helmet law here, and Im thankful for that,, I mean why would I want to hit the trails or even the streets with a bunch of friends of mine that dosnt wear helmets.. the only thing I could do was worry... but oh well.. The lid stays on my head no matter what...
