MP's gave me a ticket in Iraq for not wearing a seatbelt....f'ing POGs[:@]

 

wow, thats harsh. They have seatbelts??

 

HMMWV's do, but we didnt have armor, just cargo hummers, and seatbelts are hard to get around body armor...etc. So we always left them off so we could get out fast when we needed to. I pull onto the airfield where all of the remfs live and they gave me a ticket for not wearing the seatbelt. I guess it makes sense...its hard to tell there is a war going on when you dont leave the gate and venture into the world. Some people never set foot outside the protected areas. We lived on our own in the city and provided our own protection, so it was a little frustrating.

Yeah...I hated them. Don't know if I told you this but my platoon and some other guys killed uday and qusay (saddam's sons). We were trying to secure the area and move in when some mp's rolled up to try and get in on the action, they had some chick saw gunner who almost shot me and my squad, then we kicked them out and had them secure the outer perimeter. MP's are best left to policing...not combat operations. Which is why I suppose they were handing out traffic tickets.
