Those lights are going to be so bright, that you will cause somebody to get arc burn!

 

Actually, I am doing this to prevent exactly that. When I put the HID in last year, light was going everywhere - much of it upwards and into peoples' faces. Now I have a nice, horizon cut-off line to keep it below eye level. Gonna be nice. Should be installing it tonight or tomorrow night.

Test fit it tonight, still piecing together the bike, then will light it up and get it adjusted. Looks sick

 

It looks good!!! What is the white piece? it looks almost like a paper plate that you trimmed down and painted black....I like the way you did it because you maintained the factory adjustments.....I might hit ya up on where ya got the light from, etc....How much power consumption does the new light use compared to the stock?

 

As a paper plate would spontaneously combust - that wouldn't be a very good idea It is actually a ceiling fan or hanging lamp shroud. You can get them in a variety of diameters, and then cut them to fit. Be sure to put a ring of vacuum tubing around the edge to prevent it from vibrating against the glass.

The lamp is from a BMW X5 - just check out your local junkyards or body shops. Wattage draw is LESS than a regular halogen at only 35w and a fraction of the amperage (I have those numbers elsewhere, will post them for you later). However - you either need to put a bigger fuse in the headlamp circuit (if the rest of your fusebox can handle it), or hook it straight to the battery with a relay as the initial startup voltage will be a lot higher to spark it. Once lit - current draw is a fraction of regular headlights.
