My mom had Pancreatitis when I was growing up, the doctors said many times that she wouldnt make it out, but somehow she did. She was in the ICU for over 9 weeks. best of luck to your dad, I hope all turns out well for him.

Well its been a year; and for the last 6-8 months since the end of kemo things have been really good- numbers were down at all his check-ups and this week things went from a "30" to a "50"....... before kemo it was over 200.
So he has had his scan tests and we find out friday what it all means and hopefully a gameplan.
we were really dreaming for a full recovery, but then like stated earlier only 5% live past 4 years- and if you can't have the surgery to get started you'll never even make it past 20-24 months and most(75%) die in under 6.

Well, we will just hope that dad is tough enough to defeat anything. It sounds like the results are good, so I am going to say that he has pilled out on top!
We are here for ya buddy!

There is this new procedure out there now where they take a laser and concentrate on just the cancerous area. It doesnt affect the patient as badly as normal chemo would.
My grandmother has kidney, liver, and lung cancer. She has lived since before Katrina with cancer. That procedure has significantly prolonged her life.
