I'm ridin from the Glendale side too. Sometimes right up the frontside (lots of traffic), sometimes up Tajunga (backside??) - less traffic/black'n'whites.

It's definitely open all the way up to Newcomb's ranch. I know it's still blocked off further up. Judging by traffic that goes by Newcomb's, only a handful of miles further up - so doesn't go all the way to wherever it used to go - I heard a ranger say it's not scheduled to reopen in '08.
